Golf Tournament - Sunday, July 20

Prior to the conference you are invited to join us for a fantastic day of golf, relaxation and networking with your peers at Admiral's Green Golf Club. The registration fee of $75.00 includes round-trip transportation from the hotel, 18 holes of golf, power cart and a delicious meal.  Please note that the deadline for registration for the golf tournament is July 6.

The Welcome Reception - Sunday, July 20, 2008, 7:00 pm

This year’s Welcome Reception and Exhibition will precede the conference on Sunday evening from 7-10 pm .  Join colleagues and exhibitors in the Crush Lobby for hors d’oeuvres, a beverage and some traditional Newfoundland music.

Network Lunch - Monday, July 21, 2008  

Take the time to get to know your colleagues!  Be sure to remember to visit the exhibitors and check out the silent auction items at this “mix and mingle” session break.  

Rally in the Alley - Monday, July 21, 2008

St. John’s has more bars and pubs per capita than any other city in Canada and most of them are located on George Street, the City’s entertainment districtLocal bagpipers, drummers and fiddlers will lead groups of delegates to three pub venues to experience the famous nightlife of downtown St. John’s.   A traditional fish and chips dinner (alternative meals are available) will be followed by an organized pub crawl featuring Irish Step Dancers, Newfoundland Song Circles (with song sheets) and a traditional Newfoundland Screech-In.  Club One will be the final gathering place for some “last call” entertainment.

Lunch in Downtown St. John’s - Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

You will be on your own to explore downtown St. John’s and marvel at the richness and diversity of its restaurant offerings, while taking in the sights and sounds of one of North America’s oldest ports. A sign will be posted in the Crush Lobby with a list of nearby restaurants for your selection.

Throughout a formal dining experience, the Newfoundland Showcase will give you an opportunity to experience our spirit, culture and camaraderie through our talented actors and musicians, featuring: Sods 'N Rhymes (Jim Payne and Glenn Downey) and A Crowd of Bold Sharemen.

CIPHI Awards Luncheon - Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

The Delta St. John’s will prepare an enjoyable meal for you as you join your fellow Environmental Health Professionals in honouring the recipients of annual CIPHI awards.

Wednesday Excursions - Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

A concierge desk will be staffed by McCarthy’s Party, a local tour planning group, from Sunday to Wednesday. Their staff will take reservations for tour destinations for Wednesday evening (please note that these tours are not covered by the conference registration fee).  The staff of the Hospitality/Tour desk will also answer questions about the local area, make restaurant reservations and assist you wherever possible.

Companion Package - Sunday, July 20th to Wednesday, July 23rd

McCarthy’s Party is available to take reservations and to organize day trips for your companion.  Various tours are described on their website. You may contact them on-line to register, or register at their Hospitality Desk at the Conference.  Specific tour packages will be offered to companions of CIPHI Conference delegates, so that they can get to know one another.
