The Annual Educational Conference (AEC) of the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors is the major educational and social event for Environmental Public Health Professionals in Canada. The 74th AEC in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador promises to continue with the well established tradition of quality education and fun for delegates and presenters.

During the 2008 AEC, a number of themes will be the focus of the three day, triple stream conference:

  • children’s environmental health

  • human health and climate change

  • emerging threats to human health

  • air quality (indoor and outdoor)

  • food safety

  • drinking recreational water quality

  • health emergency management

  • injury prevention

Why submit an abstract for the 2008 AEC?

If you have an experience, research, manuscript, etc., that relates to one or more of the conference themes you should consider submitting an abstract and participating in the continuing professional development of Environmental Public Health Professionals in Canada. Your participation will contribute to enhancing public health capacity in Canada. We are looking for evidence-based practices, based on recent research and/or your own real-life experiences, that you can share with your environmental public health colleagues. As a presenter at the 74th AEC in St. John’s, you will receive:

  • Free daily registration on the day you present

  • Designation as a speaker on your conference ID Badge

  • Recognition in the conference program
